Estelle was a vibrant soul, one who literally lit up the room whenever she entered. She was compassionate, endearing, and loved by everyone. She had a special way to touch the lives of those who were lucky enough to know her. Estelle had an absolute passion for life and took everything on with determination, focus and style.
She was a remarkable businesswoman and is
leaving a lasting legacy in her business,

“Estelle started her business with a typewriter and an answering machine from her kitchen; after struggling to transport her own pet across the country.
While Animal Travel has since grown into a thriving business, Estelle was still hands on and involved with much of the day-to-day tasks. “I’m passionate about animals, my work and my staff,” she says.
Her passion hasn’t gone unnoticed. In 2003, Estelle was nominated as a finalist for the Businesswomen’s Association of South Africa’s Businesswoman of the Year award.
She also works closely with the Independent Pet and Animal Transport Association (IPATA). Estelle served as a board member for the organization for four years before serving as its Regional Director for Africa and Middle East. She also sat on the association’s ethics and awards committees. When she didn’t look after her clients’ pets, she spent time with her three grandchildren and her own fur babies: four cats and two German shepherds.”
She was honoured by IPATA in 2018 and received their Lifetime Achievement Award. This is testament to her legacy globally in the pet industry.
Our lasting memories of Estelle are simple: a hard-working, passionate pillar of strength who never waned in her support or love of her family, staff and who put the needs of others first.
